PRODUCT OF THE MONTH: OZ Vee Packers

Oz Vee Packers are roof-shaped seal sets which are commonly used for sealing rods and rams in hydraulic cylinders. A key feature of roof-shaped seals is that their multi-piece design and variations in choice of material; an optimum sealing set can be found for nearly all applications. Pockets of lubricant are formed along the seal length, which is divided by individual roof-shaped rings. This ensures tribological conditions favourable to low friction and a long service life.

The appropriate set combinations for sealing systems will offer a high degree of reliability, particularly during critical load phases such as axial and radial vibrations, eccentric loads acting on the rod, frequent pressure reversals and changes in temperature. The female rings, which can be subjected to particularly heavy loads, are made of resin bonded fabric with good resistance to wear and deformation; the male adapter also consists of resin-bonded fabric or plastic. Split roof-shaped seal sets can be delivered with profile cords. Endless seal sets can be delivered with profile cords as an option.
